Dave Radoo was born on the Island of Trinidad & Tobago on July 7, 1967. He began his singing career at the age of 18 and his elegant style and melodious voice have captivated and marveled fans all over the world ever since.
In May of 1996, Dave became an international singer when he toured Guyana, along with other artists, including the very talented queen of dancing, Shelly Ramnanan. The following October, Dave also toured the United States and Canada.
In 1997, Radoo entered the Mastana Bahar and won second prize. Also in 1997, Radoo migrated to the United States, where he married the love of his life, Rose. She must have brought him luck as well as love, because the following May, Dave entered the Kishor Kumar singing competition in Queens, NY and won first prize! Then, in 2001, Dave released his hit CD, “Feroza Girl.” He also entered the Chutney Monarch Competition held in Trinidad and Tobago, and while he made it to the finals, his busy schedule prevented him from completing the competition. Dave’s singing career has taken him all over the world and all over the United States; from New England to Florida and, of course, to every borough in New York City.
Tragically, in 2004, Dave Radoo was diagnosed with cancer. His last performance was on May 8, 2005 at the Club Tobago Mother’s Day Concert.
Dave Radoo died on August 25, 2005, in Brooklyn, NY. He is survived by his wife Rose and his children, Shelley and Andrew Ramnanan.
The memory of Dave Radoo lives on in the hearts of his family, friends and fans forever.
